If you are asked for username and password when downloading documents, just cancel the dialog. You can contact the help desk about getting this to stop on your computer.
Online Tutorial Note: Don't print this all out, because it will be changing as we go along.

The D2L site. (All students, on-campus and on-line, will be using D2L, Desire to Learn.) Prepare Your Browser Settings for WebCT - PC Internet Explorer Is this still valid?. |
A note about assignments: Sometimes I hear horror stories from students who have spent 2 or 3 hours on a single problem. By no means should this happen. If you have spent 15-20 minutes on a problem and are still stuck, post a message on the discussion board or email me with your program and error messages, if any. Meanwhile, go on to the next problem. Also don't wait until the last minute to work on assignments, that way you can have a chance to ask in class. It is helpful to read ahead in the tutorial (as in any class) because you will understand things better in class and have a chance to get your questions answered. (Some large assignments near the end of the semester may take several hours.)
Approximate Schedule (will be updated as we go):
Videos will stream if you click on them, otherwise you can right click and download them, which will give better control over playback. The old videos from last semester are still here. They will be replaced as we go along. Videos are usually posted at night or the day after the lecture, depending on time constraints.

SAS Certification All Statistics students are strongly encouraged to pursue SAS certification. It is a very marketable credential. Some companies pay hiring bonuses for having it, and even if they don't, it is an impressive resume item. |
